Dr. Dinal Vora, MD Psychiatry (Hom.):(Founder Member – Playnasium)
Dr. Dinal Vora is a self motivated young consulting homoeopathic psychiatrist in Mumbai, keenly involved with the management of psychological difficulties in children. She has also received training in educational counselling skills and has been involved with research and community work in the field of psycho education in urban as well as rural areas. Currently she is associated with M. B. Barvalia Foundation’s Spandan Holistic Institute of Applied Homoeopathy as a Physician and Research Fellow in Child Health. She is also a key organiser in various initiatives adopted by an association of doctors who work towards improving and preserving health in society. Playnasium is one such venture. Another undertaking of the group in association with Dr. Manoj Patel is Angels – The Child guidance centre, which attempts to provide complete medical and ancillary support to children with psychological difficulties. She has also contributed a thesis on mental health of children, presented several papers in seminars and has been involved in training programs for parents, teachers, children and budding doctors. Her meticulous and hard working temperament complements her unique abilities to clearly visualise and plan for any undertaking while her sensitive listening makes her an easy person to talk to.
A constant endeavour to integrate play and art therapies with homoeopathy in the treatment of children has its roots in her love for children and art forms such as dance and painting.
Dr. Aditya Tiwari, MD Psychiatry (Hom.):(Founder Member – Playnasium)Dr. Aditya Tiwari is a Consulting Homoeopath & Psychiatrist in Mumbai. He has studied widely the effects of various therapies when administered along with homoeopathy and is presently pursuing an intensive course in Art Based Therapy. The therapeutic process makes use of various art media like colour, music and drama to facilitate a state of improved health in individuals and groups. He is also associated with M B Barvalia Foundation’s Spandan Holistic Institute of Applied Homoeopathy as a Senior Physician and Research Fellow in Child Care. He is a principal coordinator of various initiatives like Playnasium which focus on preventive health and is also part of the team at Angels – The Child Guidance Centre. In the past he has been involved with management of child and adult psychiatric cases in clinical as well as hospital set ups. Apart from this he has also been engaged with training activities for students and teachers of homoeopathy, workshops for children and parents and has also contributed several literary works in homoeopathic journals.
His ability to draw from his experiences and relate to people in a simple and spontaneous manner makes him very approachable to adults and children alike.
His interest in diverse art forms like movies, music, yoga and photography provides inspiration to explore and utilise these for healing purposes.
Dr. Tamanna Chellani, MD (Hom.):(Founder Member – Playnasium)Dr. Tamanna Chellani is a Homoeopathic Consultant and Counsellor based in Pune. She has been associated with the Institute of Clinical Research and Dr. M L Dhawale Memorial Trust in several rural health development programmes in Mumbai and Pune. These programs have been an attempt to help people understand and work towards improved health and lifestyle utilising their own strengths and inner resources. Having spent over a decade treating patients with Homoeopathy in the urban and rural localities of Mumbai, Bangalore and Pune, she currently focuses on preventive and promotive health through the use of integrated and holistic therapies. She has been trained in the technique of Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy and attempts to reach out to people through counselling.
She has been involved with training programmes for post-graduate students and practicing physicians in Bangalore and is presently engaged with the conception and planning of activities at Playnasium and Angels – The Child Guidance Centre.
With a keen interest in people and a love for writing, she has dabbled with creating and editing health awareness material, at the heart of which lies the need to improve communication between physicians and patients.
Shradhdha Shah, BHMSDr. Shradhdha Shah is a consulting homoeopathic physician in Mumbai. She has studied hypnotic modalities and regression therapies from the California Hypnosis Institute of India, Mumbai and the Life Research Academy, Hyderabad. The focus of these holistic therapies and workshops is that awareness heals. She is currently working with individuals and groups through age regression processes, creative visualization, guided imagery and creative dance techniques to facilitate an inner research. Projects so far include Inner Research workshops in rural areas like Jirad, Sadli, Don Bosco, Save the Children, Mumbai and Each One Teach One, among others for young children, adolescent groups and adults. She is also a part of a series of holistic healing workshops by Dr. Jayesh Shah (MD Hom), which are residential and day module for adults and parents. Part of the philosophy that supports this work is that a happy parent makes a happy child, helping parents and children to understand deeper fears. For individuals of younger ages, a space is created for them to express themselves and communicate their anxieties or concerns and also re-evaluate how they see themselves.
She is currently working towards helping individuals and groups move towards inner awareness through various meditative and movement activities.
Anita Chitre, MA Psychology (Clinical)Anita Chitre is a Clinical Psychologist based in Bombay and a visiting lecturer at Nair Hospital involved with the training of Occupational and Physiotherapy students. Clinical Psychology is a branch that deals with understanding the emotional, intellectual and behavioural difficulties in children and adults. For more than the 10 years, she has offered her services to conduct psychometric testing and certify children with learning and behavioural problems. Through such diagnosis of difficulties in children and interactions with parents, she began to understand the various modalities required for the comprehensive development of a child. She now utilises the knowledge in combination with Play Therapy and devises ways to enhance children’s skills and improve their communication. An empathetic approach coupled with an emphasis on the necessity of sound reasoning and analytical abilities helps her to widen the dimension of health that can be made available to all.
Her workshops aim at augmenting the emotional as well as the intellectual quotient in children through fun-filled activities.
Vinita Agarwal Khanduri, MA Psychology (Clinical)Vinita Agarwal Khanduri is a Clinical Psychologist associated with numerous reputed clinical centres in Mumbai. She is an integral member of the Learning Disability Clinic at Sion Hospital. Since the last 8 years, she conducts tests to identify children with difficulties and guides parents towards the most suitable comprehensive programme at M B Barvalia Foundation’s Spandan Holistic Child Care Centre. Currently her job involves the supervision and training of younger psychologists. She assists the Life Skill Training Programme conducted by Dr. Aditya Tiwari and Dr. Dinal Vora at SVDD School. These programmes as recommended by the WHO look into various aspects of enhancing the overall development of the child and act as a support system in his/her growing years. They are creatively designed into modules that focus on skills that are necessary for a smooth day-to-day functioning and interaction.
As a counsellor at SVDD School she is available for parents who wish to consult an expert for minor academic and non academic difficulties with their child. The counsellor helps through suggestions on appropriate parenting as well as therapeutic measures. Being ever willing to chew over newer and innovative ideas, she is a source of inspiration for the team and in turn for the children. Parents feel free to communicate their issues with her as she allows open interaction. She is resourceful and makes sure she gives her best to make the experience most beneficial for the child-parent unit.
